Love and loyalty

Date published: 26 December 2012

Michael Thewlis, Milnrow Band solo baritone player, married his fiancée Liz, Milnrow Band percussionist, on Saturday 22 December but rather than fly off on honeymoon, the happy couple showed their loyalty to the band by postponing their honeymoon to a later date in order that Michael could play in the band at a concert the following day, Sunday 23 December.

The Thewlis' were following a precedent set in September 2003 when two Milnrow band members were married and postponed their honeymoon in order to play in the area finals contest in Dundee.

Liz was in the audience giving support to her new husband.

Band spokesman Ken Watts said: "Enthusiastic or what?"
