Night bus on New Year’s Eve
Date published: 24 December 2012
People out on the town or working in Manchester on New Year’s Eve will be able to catch a night bus home to Rochdale.
The late night bus – which complements bus operators’ own services that usually run on Friday and Saturday nights –will be on the road into the early hours next Monday night (31 December), however, there will be fewer buses from early evening onwards.
Michael Renshaw, TfGM’s Bus and Rail Director, said: “Getting home in the early hours on New Year’s Eve can be a challenge, with taxis in high demand, and it’s always best to be on the safe side and plan ahead.
“Night buses have been running on many routes for over a decade now, and are well established as a safe, cheap and reliable way of getting home.”
The night bus will run from Piccadilly Gardens to Rochdale via Middleton (No 17).
Special fares may apply after 8pm.
For more detailed information about individual services and fares, contact your service operator or call Traveline on 0871 200 22 33.
