RBH members spread Christmas cheer

Date published: 24 December 2012

RBH tenant and employee members have been spreading cheer across the Borough as part of the RBH Membership Christmas Appeal.

The Christmas Shoebox gifts donated throughout the appeal period have now been packed and delivered to tenants by RBH members.

Frances Ward, RBH tenant member, helped to pack and wrap the shoebox gifts. She said: “I volunteered to help out as my daughter organises a Christmas gift appeal in South Africa and I thought it was great that I could get involved in something similar over here.”

Employee and tenant members have also been visiting sheltered schemes to sing carols and serve mulled wine and mince pies to residents.

Christine Weaver, RBH tenant member, was part of the carol singing team. She said:
“I enjoy singing and it was good to have the opportunity to go out and entertain the residents. We had a lot of fun and it was nice to spread a bit of festive cheer to the people in the sheltered schemes.”

Members who helped out in the appeal were invited to a special Christmas party at the Co-operative Museum on Toad Lane, where they were treated to mulled wine, mince pies and carol singing by the Lower Falinge Junior Wardens.
