Rhema Theatre Rhema Theatre performed their Christmas show “No Room at the Inn” in the school hall on Tuesday for the whole school. It was wonderful for the children to see and hear the story of the real meaning of Christmas presented by quality actors.

Healthy hands and hygiene Due to the current spate of viral infections throughout Rochdale schools, St John’s has requested a visit from the school nurse to provide a talk on what children should do to help prevent the spread of germs. This will take place in assembly on Friday 30 November.

Book Fair week Scholastic Book Club will be holding their book fair in the school hall, 3pm after school the week commencing Monday 3 December to Thursday 6 December.

Books will be available to browse and order.

Advent Mass We will be holding an Advent Mass on Tuesday, 4 December at 9.15am in the school hall. Year 3 children will assemble in front of the whole school to explain the meaning of Christingle using candles and oranges.

Harar update The fundraising for Harar has gone above our expected target but we will continue to raise funds up to Christmas.

So far the amount raised (1,196.53p) will fund five operations for children with facial disfigurement.

Thank you for your tremendous support for this charity which helps to give children a better life.

M6 Theatre – Monday10 December "Mavis Sparkle” will be performed by the M6 Theatre for classes 1, 2 and 3.

Please note, if you have not already paid your contribution for the above shows, please do so at the office as soon as possible.

School Christmas dinner – Thursday 13 December The school Christmas dinner will be held on Thursday, 13 December in the school hall. If your child normally has a packed lunch and you would like them to stay for school dinner, please book in advance at the school office. The dinner will be £1.80 which should be paid at the school office.

Where is Wally? Last week Wally was in Chad, Africa.

Certificate awards Awards went to Class F2 for highest attendance and the merit award went to
Class 6 for good behaviour and effort.

Golden book awards The Golden Book awards are for children have tried their best in all areas with politeness and respect.
