Lucy Ward - a travel & tourism student flying high
18 year old Lucy Ward has always dreamed of flying high as a member of airline cabin crew; after landing the highest grades possible at college, her dreams (including her more recent one to go onto university) seem rather likely indeed.
The Hopwood Hall College student achieved an amazing 3 Distinction* (star) grades in her travel and tourism qualification, which is equivalent to 3 A* grades at A-level.
Her top results mean that Lucy has the highest UCAS points to enable her to get into the course of her dreams at university.
Lucy says: “When I was in school I always wanted to be a member of cabin crew and this all stemmed from my love of travelling. With this in mind, I applied for a Travel and Tourism course at Hopwood Hall College.
In my second year of the course I took a keen interest in marketing and I realised that this could also be a possible career path. I would never have taken this into consideration when I was at school; this shows how much the course has opened my eyes in just two years.”
With her excellent qualifications under her belt, Lucy hopes to firstly, fulfil her dream of becoming a member of cabin crew for a few years, and then go on to university to study marketing.
This high flyer wants to stay in the travel industry and ultimately land a top marketing position within the travel sector. Her tutor Angela Holden thinks that it is a dead certainty: “With lots of hard work, Lucy has managed to ensure herself a very bright future.”
