Shop in Rochdale and win the cost of Christmas
Date published: 27 November 2012
Struggling for inspiration for those special gifts and last minute stocking fillers this year?
Solve your shopping dilemmas by joining Rochdale’s Christmas Shopping Crawl – and possibly win the cash to pay for it as well.
Over 20 of the town’s independent shops and businesses are taking part in the national Celebrate an Independent Christmas campaign to encourage people to shop local this year.
The idea is that shoppers visit all the retailers and businesses at least once in the run-up to the big day and get a card stamped. Completed cards will then be entered into a prize draw and the winner will get £1,000 to spend locally. Ten prizes of £100 are also up for grabs.
Shoppers have from now until Monday 24 December to complete their cards. The draw will take place on 31 December.
If you don’t fancy solo shopping you can join an organised shopping crawl with tours taking place on Fridays and Saturdays leading up to Christmas. In keeping with this year’s traditional celebrations, tours will be led by a Victorian-themed guide.
