St John with St Michael Samaritans Purse Operation Christmas Child shoe box appeal

St John with St Michael in Shawforth are raising money for The Samaritans Purse Operation Christmas Child shoe box appeal.

Last year we only got 37 boxes - this year we got 88!

The school held cake bakes to pay for the postage of them, the children baked and decorated cakes over 2 days.

The school also had fantastic support from parents sending in items to fill the boxes with such as soap, toothpaste, hair brushes, toys, teddies and colouring items.

The children put their heart and soul into it and contacted local businesses too for items to put in the boxes.

We are amazed at the goodwill of local people. This is a very worthwhile charity which our school has supported for the last 10 years.
