Falinge Park High School
Final rehearsals are now underway for this week’s production of ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’. The show is a faithful adaptation of C.S. Lewis’ famous novel and learners of all years are involved.
Rehearsals continue to take place over the weekend and the final production can be seen in two primary matinees and evening shows on Tuesday 27 November and Wednesday 28 November. Our evening show starts at 7.00pm promptly. For tickets please contact school directly or book via pupils at the CEPA Office at breaktimes, lunchtimes or after school. Many thanks to the staff of Rochdale Sixth Form College for their use of the Main Hall as part of our school show. It is much appreciated and thanks for your support throughout the venture.
A CEPA visit to Manchester Art Gallery and the Gallery of Costume has been organized for Saturday 8thDecembe from 10.00am to 4.00pm. The visit is open to learners of all years and places are issued on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. The visit will feature a look at the exciting new paper art exhibition titled ‘First Cut’ and the costumes of the artist, VioliseLunn as well as range of dramatic costumes from the 18th century to the present day. The winners of our CEPA Bookmark Competition have been published on our school website. Well done to all learners who took part in the competition. The four winners each received some chocolate and some special stationery.
Learners in Year 7 CALL lessons have been undertaking a large scale survey this week to collect views on different learning styles and lesson content. We listen to our learners and their ideas and try to use such opinions to form our future planning. Well done to all Year 7 learners who have taken part. The results of the survey will be published shortly.
Year 10 and Year 11 BTEC Drama students have begun a new assessment piece titled ‘Tales Told in Tents’ The performances will be based on folk tales from a range of countries and will lead to an evening showcase in the spring term. More details will be announced in the near future.
