St Edwards C of E Primary School
Winter/Christmas Fair Friday 30 November at 3.20pm. We would like to thank St. Martin’s Charity Shop for their support and donations.
Stalls
Chocolate Tombola; Bottle Tombola; Face painting; pint pots; Christmas Tattoos; Photo with Santa; Name The Teddy; Lucky Dip; Raffle; 50/50; Lucky Straws; Books; Refreshments.
Cake Stall – we are having a Bun Bake-Off with a Christmas theme and then we will sell the buns at the fair. There will be a prize for everyone who enters and then a prize for the overall winner.
Non-Uniform
We are having a non-uniform day on Friday 23 November. We are asking the children to please bring donations of bottles or chocolate for our Tombola. Thank you.
Refreshments
Don’t forget our refreshments this year will be an indoor BBQ. The Royal Toby Hotel is generously donating all the food and their Head Chef, Paul will be cooking the food for us. Several other members of staff are also coming along to help. This is a great opportunity for us to establish good working links with them and we would like to say a big thank you to The Royal Toby Hotel for their support and generosity.
Pint Pots
Please can you fill these with sweets, pens, crayons, pencils, hair accessories, small new toys, etc. We will be selling them at the fair. Thank you.

National Cycling Academy
Class 5F will be learning cycling skills next week with the National Cycling Academy.
Castleton Children’s Centre
The free ‘Stay and Play Sessions’ are here at St. Edward’s on Wednesday mornings from 9.15am-10.45am. If you come to drop older children off at school, you are quite welcome to come into our community room for a coffee until 9.15am.

Football Training
Football training for Years 5/6 children has now finished until the New Year.
Class Assemblies
This year we are inviting you to share your child’s class assembly. Assemblies will take approx 15mins. Dates for this half term (please note the change of times):
Tuesday 20 November
9.15am – 5S
1pm – 1B
Tuesday 27 November
9am – 4S
The other classes will be having their assemblies after Christmas.
Story Sacs
On Tuesday, 20 November we are starting Story Sacs for Reception children. Parents can come to school at 2.30pm on a Tuesday afternoon and go down to the Library area together with their child. You can then pick a Story Sac with your child to take home and read with them. They need to be back in school by the Friday morning ready for the following week.
Cookery Club
Cookery Club will be starting after Christmas and will run in blocks of six weeks. This is open to children from Years 1-6 and their parents. If your child is interested, please fill in the slip on the back of the newsletter and return it to school as soon as possible as places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Your child will receive a letter if they are given a place. If parents would like to come along with their children, please indicate on the slip on the back of the newsletter.
Dinner Money
Dinners are now £1.85 per day - £9.25 per week which needs to be paid on a Monday morning. Next week we are on Week1.
