Tickets from our forthcoming show, ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ are now available directly from school priced at £3.50 each and £12.00 for a family ticket. The show takes place at Rochdale Sixth Form College on Tuesday 27 November and Wednesday 28 November at 7.00pm. Tickets can be bought directly from school in advance via the CEPA Office at breaktimes, lunchtimes and after school.
Our resource pack for the Pantomime can be purchased from the CEPA office, priced at £3.00. The booklet features a rage of games and learning activities and a free CD-ROM. See Mr. DeCourcey for more details as there are limited numbers available.
Our CEPA Bookmark competition came to a close this week and we were delighted with the number of entries. The winners will be announced this week and certificates and prizes issued.
Video editing of our new Year 10 and Year 11 BTEC Drama, ‘Made of Stone’ is currently underway and learners undertook sound recordings for the final voice work for the short film. The final production will be shown in class and a special lunchtime screening in the next few weeks.
Year 7 CALL leaners have been busy reading texts in their current ‘Underground’ Schemes of Work. Additional copies of the books and suggested wider reading can be found in the school library. See Ms. Murtagh for more details.
Well-done to 6 Year 7 CALL learners who led a short presentation of the issue of ‘Arson’ to Year 6 Shawclough Primary learners. The children organized Powerpoint presentations and spoke about the dangers of arson to the pupils. The session was also attended and supported by the Greater Manchester Fire Service. Many thanks to Ms. Wystawnoha and Mr. DeCourcey and to Shawclough Primary School.
Year 10 and Year 11 Drama students have been given the opportunity to attend Physical Theatre workshops led by 2Tour Theatre Company in the next few weeks. See Mr. Mvula or CEPA staff for more details.
14 Year 11 girls attended a Critical Skills workshop event organized by Aimhigher at The Fairfield Hospital in Bury. They thoroughly enjoyed the basic life support morning session that also involved a series of rotating workshops. It was delivered by Critical Care Educators who also deliver all levels of training to many departments with the NHS.
