Kicking up a stink
Date published: 14 November 2012
MEP Paul Nuttall is kicking up a stink over the EU getting sniffy over perfumes.
"There really is no area of our day-to-day lives that a the EU won't interfere in," he said.
"If people want to use perfume they should have the right to choose which one they use," said Mr Nuttall.
"But the Big Brother EU wants to ban some of the traditional ingredients that give fragrances, including the legendary Chanel No 5, their uniqueness, and have done for decades.
"Yes, unfortunately some people are allergic to ingredients in some fragrances, but their use is an optional extra so they can avoid the offending item," said Mr Nuttall, UKIP Deputy Leader.
"It's a bit like banning nuts because some folk are allergic to them. But then again the Eurocrats are nuts so who knows what they'll have in their sights next," he added.
