A 44-year-old Littleborough man died of wounds he sustained when his motorbike collided with a truck in Thalang, Phuket on Tuesday night.

Christopher Hart died at about 10pm, nearly an hour after the accident, at Thalang Hospital from head trauma, family members said. He is survived by a wife and three-year-old son.

"He was an all-around decent guy, anybody he came in contact with were touched by his words and personality," said Stephen Brierley, Christopher’s brother-in-law.

Christopher was a lover of sport and was frequently seen participating in local football and cricket events as well as helping coach youth rugby.

Christopher played for the Village Cricket Team in the island's cricket league. The Phuket Cricket Group (PCG) has announced it will host a memorial for Christopher.

"He was really a truly lovely guy that was widely liked throughout Phuket," said long time friend Alex Seago.

According to friends, Christopher first came to Phuket in 2004 and was a trainer with Via Lingua, teaching English.
