Cricket club bonfire a sparkling success
Date published: 07 November 2012
Norden Cricket Club held its annual bonfire and firework event last Saturday (3 November), welcoming 2,500 people from the local community through the gates to enjoy the spectacular evening.
Sponsoring the event and helping to keep crowds toasty on the night were colleagues from Asda who were on hand to give out a selection of warm treats from the supermarket on Kingsway Retail Park.
Along with the outstanding firework display, other highlights included a mini children’s fun fair and a selection of food and drink stalls.
Asda Rochdale Kingsway store manager, Paul Jenkins, said: “We are delighted to be able to support local community events such as this one.
"Norden Cricket Club put on a brilliant show year after year and our colleagues had a great time meeting local families and letting them sample a selection of Asda goodies. We have even had customers in store telling us how much they enjoyed the night.”
