Mike Knowles, aftersales manager from RRG Rochdale at the dealership located on Edinburgh Way, with be joining Jonathon Taylor, general manager at RRG Oldham and eight other riders from Peugeot Finance, in a sponsored bike ride to help raise vital funds for BBC Children in Need.
The intrepid cyclists will be cycling around 640km, from the Peugeot Head Office in Paris to the Peugeot Head Office in Coventry, Pinley House.
Setting off on Monday 12 November, the cyclists will cycle north, through Beauvais to the town of Amiens before arriving at Calais on Tuesday 13 November to catch the ferry. Back in the UK, they aim to reach Bedford within 24 hours before setting off again for their final destination via Northampton.
Upon their arrival at Pinley House, they will be warmly greeted by the Children in Need mascot, Pudsey bear and a crowd of their family and friends. The team is set to arrive on Friday 16 November, the same day as the exciting live BBC Children in Need telethon.
Mike said: “The bike ride from Paris to Coventry is definitely going to be challenging for all of us, but morale is already very high. We are all determined to raise as much money as possible for such a well-deserving charity.
“We will be tweeting throughout the ride and supporters can track our progress by following @PeugeotNews.
“Everyone in the dealership has been very supportive and we know that they will all be cheering us on all the way through the route. We know that this will be a very physically demanding challenge but all the aches and pains will be worth it.”
Between them, Mike and Jonathon are aiming to raise £3,000 for the charity, which helps disadvantaged children across the UK, funding over 2,500 projects across the country and supporting causes in the local community.
The dealership is also encouraging the car designers of tomorrow to create their perfect Peugeot 208 with ‘Pudsey’s Dream Wheels.’ To enter and be in with a chance of winning a Peugeot 208 visit www.pudseysdreamwheels.co.uk
