Many thanks to the parents, families and Year 7 learners who joined us for our ‘Treasure Trail’ event. The activities proved fun and useful to many children and we received some lovely feedback. We were delighted with the response and impressed by how enthusiastically learners tackled some of the more demanding activities. Well done to all and thanks to Ms. York and Mr. DeCourcey for organizing the event.
Congratulations to the Year 10 and Year 11 BTEC Drama Group who braved the bitter cold this week to film at Lee Quarry in Bacup. The group filmed a short piece of drama based on nineteenth century quarrying life and the film will be edited over the next few weeks. Learners made the ascent to the quarry, carrying props and costume items and the photographs can be seen on our school website this week.
Well done to the learners who joined us for a walk around Pendle Sculpture Trail this weekend. The group, comprising learners from different years, had lunch at the Pendle Heritage Centre and then took a stroll around the new Sculpture Trail, created by four major local artists.
Year 7 CALL learners have received long term homework packs this week for their ‘Underground’ Scheme of Work. Please can parents read through the pack with their child and ensure work is undertaken each week rather than left until the last minute.
