Poppy Appeal receives boost

Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal
This year’s Poppy Appeal is set to benefit from a new link-up between the council and the Royal British Legion that will see poppies go on sale at Rochdale Town Hall.
Poppies will be available at the office underneath the clock tower between 3-10 November. The legion’s volunteers are aiming to have the office open from 9am to 4pm each day during this period.
Each year the Royal British Legion raises millions of pounds to help service men and women who have been injured or traumatised in conflicts ranging from World War Two to the current operation in Afghanistan.
Wing Commander David Forbes, President of the Rochdale branch of the Royal British Legion, said: “I am delighted that we are working with the council in this way and I hope the project will be a great success.”
