Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is setting up a Trust choir for everyone - staff, patients/service users, carers and members of the public.
If you’re a seasoned singer, someone who has never sung before, or even just someone who enjoys singing in the shower – you are invited to get involved. Joining the choir will provide opportunities to sing at local events, meet new people and most importantly have fun in a relaxed, friendly environment!
The sessions will be run by a professional vocal coach so it’s a great way to learn how to sing or to build on your existing vocal talents within a group, covering a wide variety of musical styles. There’s no audition and you don’t need to be able to read music.
Dr Dawn Edge, Non-Executive Director at Pennine Care, said: “We know from research that singing is great for people's health and wellbeing. It improves mental health, reduces stress and is also a great way of meeting new people, breaking down barriers, and challenging stigma.
“I'm delighted to be involved in launching the Pennine Care Choir - perhaps you could suggest a catchier name! To make things even easier, we're starting with Christmas Carols but with a bit of a difference. Go on, release your inner diva or rock star! I look forward to seeing you at choir practice.”
If you’re interested, please register by emailing: choir.penninecare@nhs.net or ring 0161 716 3033 by the 10 November 2012.
