Rebecca Whitaker, Year 10L at Beech House School, received her 1st Runner-Up prize in the Age Concern/Metro Rochdale ‘Dignity in Care’ 2012 Art Competition this week, for which Rochdale children were asked to design a logo.
She was invited to a Presentation Event at Rochdale Town Hall on Tuesday evening, where she received her award, watched by her proud parents and her Art teacher, Mrs Ali.
The award was presented by the Mayor of Rochdale and Dr Chris Steele (of ITV’s ‘This Morning’).
Rebecca received a framed print of her own artwork, along with a trophy and a certificate.
This was preceded by a recital from ‘The Voice’ choir and followed by a hot supper, which was enjoyed by all! Well done Rebecca!
