Future Sir Steve Redgraves? Sports students Kelsey Main and Matthew Cowan testing the Hopwood Hall College rowing equipment
Over 2,000 young people from schools across Rochdale have taken part in a special event designed to help them put their future first.
‘Future First’, held at Rochdale Town Hall, showcased a range of courses available for post-GCSE teens.
Attendees were invited to have a go on computer games designed by its own students, get behind the camera for media studies, make confectionery, practise nail art and pit themselves in time trials on Fitness Academy rowing machines.
College Principal Derek O’Toole said: “The aim was to inform students in a fun way about the education pathways they can take once they leave school, to inspire them about the possibilities.”
