Pennine Acute staff get chance to win car!
Date published: 29 October 2012
NHS staff in Rochdale are to get the chance to drive away those NHS blues by winning a new Toyota Aygo.
In an effort to combat low staff morale, as previously reported by Rochdale Online, Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is organising a raffle to win the new car in time Christmas. Only staff are allowed to enter and tickets will cost £2.00 each and will go on sale this week.
Unite Branch Secretary and Senior Biochemist, Liz McInnes told Rochdale Online., “I find this initiative to be totally inappropriate and insulting. At the ‘Listening into Action’ event that I attended recently staff seemed to be overwhelmingly concerned about poor management within the Trust. At no stage did anyone suggest making a superficial gesture such as this.”
The initiative has come about as a result of the ‘Listening into Action’ initiative in which the Trust engaged ‘Optimise’, a consultancy company after the organisation came in the bottom 20% of all NHS Trusts in England and Wales in the annual Staff Satisfaction Survey.
Earlier this year, the Trust, which operates services at the Rochdale Infirmary and other local hospitals, announced that it was making 180 of its staff redundant.
