Local Conservative PCC candidate Michael Winstanley has welcomed a drop in crime in Greater Manchester. Latest figures from the independent Office for National Statistics show that over the twelve months to June 2012 recorded crime fell by 10%.
Commenting local PCC Candidate said: "Everyone in Greater Manchester will be pleased that crime has fallen by 10%. This means here in Greater Manchester around 13,000 fewer victims.
"Greater Manchester police can be proud of the work they have done. This shows that reforming our police by cutting the red tape and getting officers onto the front line is the right approach.
"I am campaigning to be our new Police and Crime Commissioner so I can cut crime in Greater Manchester even more and make our communities even safer."
