Bottle attack: Man in serious condition

A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being wounded during an assault.
Shortly after 5.30am on Saturday 27 October 2012, police were called to an address on Argyle Street in Rochdale, following reports of a stabbing.
Officers attended and found that a 22-year-old man had several wounds, believed to be caused by a broken bottle.
He has been taken to hospital where his injuries are described as being serious.
It is believed that he was serious assaulted during a disturbance at the address.
Detectives have been carrying out a number of enquiries and these are ongoing.
Detective Chief Inspector Alistair Mallen said: "We are in the early stages of our investigation, but would urge any witnesses to call us."
