CFL completes memorial bench project

The memorial bench project was designed to commemorate and remember the life of Mohammed Shabaz who tragically passed away in a car crash in 2005.

Community Focus Ltd (CFL), alongside local community members, helped raise money to place a memorial bench on Colley Street in the Wardleworth area of Rochdale.

The memorial bench project was designed to commemorate and remember the life of Mohammed Shabaz who tragically passed away in a car crash in 2005.

Mr Shabaz was an active member of two youth groups called Boyz in the Hood and Wardleworth Youth Forum based in central Rochdale.

The bench was presented to Mr Shabaz’s family as a reminder of the contribution he made to the local community.

CFL management committee member Mohammed Nadeem said: “We are indebted to local residents for contributing towards this project and helping us remember a dear friend.”
