Police and Crime Commissioners election

On 15 November 2012 the public across England and Wales will elect Police and Crime Commissioners who will be accountable for how crime is tackled in their police force area.
Rochdale and the nine other local authorities will elect a Police and Crime Commissioner for Greater Manchester.
To be eligible to vote in the PCC election, you must be on the electoral register by no later than 31 October 2012. Everyone who is on the electoral register as a local government elector will be eligible to vote.

Every voter has the option to either cast their vote in person at a polling station between 7.00am and 10.00pm on Thursday 15 November 2012 or alternatively to vote by post. The council has details of how you can apply for a postal vote or to appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf.
