Police are investigating the assault of a man at a pub in Middleton.
On Sunday 21 October 2012, police were informed that a 22-year-old man had been admitted to hospital with injuries consistent with an assault.
An investigation was launched and detectives established the man had been assaulted outside the Hare and Hounds pub, Middleton at about 1.00am that morning.
The man remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.
A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and bailed pending further
Enquiries are going.
Detective Constable Claire Ramsden, of Rochdale CID, said: “The man suffered very serious injuries following this assault and we are working hard to establish exactly what happened and who is responsible.
“The pub and general area was busy at the time and I am appealing to anyone who was in or around that location and saw what happened or has information about the incident to call us.”
