Sixth Form College’s 99% pass rate sees 900 students through the doors
Date published: 24 October 2012
Following Rochdale Sixth Form College’s 99% A level pass rate earlier this year, 900 potential students and their parents and carers attended the college’s open day to see first-hand the secrets to their success.
The visitors took part in a tour of the college, listened to the principal Julian Appleyard about why to apply for September 2013 and took part in one-to-one chats with the subject teachers.
Mr Appleyard said: “We are delighted with how successful and well attended the open day was at the weekend. It was so pleasing to meet so many students eager to join the college.
"There really is no better way to help choosing a college than attending an open day as you not only get a feel as to what college life will be like but also get to meet existing students.
"And for those who didn’t get chance to attend this time, we have another Open Day on 17 November.
“We do things a little differently here at RSFC as we’re the only Sixth Form College in the area that focuses solely on A-Levels, making us specialists in the subject – something we’re very proud of.”
