Bonfire and firework displays across the borough
Date published: 15 October 2012
A series of bonfire and firework displays taking place across the borough will be sweeping away the autumn gloom this year.
In Rochdale, Cronkeyshaw Common is gearing up for its annual spectacular on Thursday 1 November, while Bowlee Park will be at the heart of the action in Middleton as they hold their bonfire, firework display and funfair on Wednesday 31 October.
Residents in Heywood can head to Cherwell Avenue on Friday 2 November as they hold their bonfire, firework display and funfair.
All the bonfires will be lit at 7pm, with the firework diplays all starting at 7.30pm and food will be available to buy on the night.
For the second year running, Rochdale Borough Council has banned all unauthorised bonfires on local authority land. If any unauthorised bonfires are found they will be removed. The other nine local authorities in Greater Manchester have also adopted this approach.
To report an unauthorised bonfire on council land please phone 0845 226 1800.
