North West on the march for A Future That Works
Date published: 12 October 2012
Twent thousand union members from the North West will descend on London next weekend to protest against austerity measures, as part of the TUC's March and Rally for a Future That Works.
Ten trains have been specially chartered by trade unions to run from Liverpool, Preston, Lancaster and Manchester taking members and their families to the capital.
And at least 19 coaches have been booked to travel from Bolton, West Cheshire, Blackburn, Greater Manchester, North East Lancashire, Preston and Bury.
Other seats have also been booked on scheduled trains across the region, including from Chester, Lancaster and Preston , with thousands more people expected to travel to London by car.
The national march on October 20, called by the Trades Union Congress, aims to rally opposition to Austerity and to build the alternative to the Coalition's cuts.
