Does your child have additional needs?
From time to time all of us have the need for extra support. In school we usually know when this is the case for academic work because we are continually assessing the children. We also are aware when children have special educational needs. However, I am aware there may be other things that happen to the children which may need extra care but about which we are not aware. Please contact school if there are times when you think your child needs something extra will we do our very best to organise the support needed.
Does your child have an appointment or will they be absent?
If so we have a supply of standard letters available in the dispenser in the main entrance – please complete the necessary form and place in the box in your child’s class. Thank you.
What to do if you’re child is unwell
Please, please telephone school on 01706 647991 before 9.30 a.m. to advise us if your child is poorly. You can leave a message on the answer phone at any time of day or night. Our prime consideration is the welfare of our children and we have to account for their whereabouts during school hours. Thank you for your support.
Class Boxes
I have organised a system in school where all monies, letters etc can be placed in the ‘class box’ – there is a box in every class, including Nursery. This ensures that monies, etc can be easily and safely taken down to the school office. If you have any letters or money for school please place these in the class box each morning.
Medicine in School
School will make arrangements to administer medicine if absolutely necessary. However, when your child visits the doctor could you please ask for medicine which needs to be given three times per day. This would mean medicine would not need to be given during the school day. Thank you.
Harvest Food Collection
This year our Harvest Food Collection will be donated to the Rochdale Foodbank. The Foodbank supports families who are in genuine need of help. In Rochdale 28% of children are living in poverty – the foodbank helps the families of many of these children. We are collecting tins and packets during the next week – please put your donations in the collecting boxes at the front of school. We will organise a special Harvest assembly to explain to the children what we are doing and why their help is important.
