Hopwood Hall students demonstrate boxing skills at Future First
Hopwood Hall College will be at Rochdale Town Hall this week to help local teens decide what to do after they finish their GCSEs next summer.
The Future First event, organised by Rochdale Borough Council, has been running for several years. The event is heavily supported by Hopwood Hall College who assist in a number of ways, including running free taster sessions for the youngsters.
The aim of the event is to ensure that all year 11 learners across the Borough are informed in an aspirational way of all options available to them.
The College’s Marketing Coordinator Lindsay Hurst says: “We are expecting it to be a great event; the Hopwood Hall College team is expecting to be very busy, with about 1,500 students from schools across the Borough due to attend.
"We’ll be offering interactive tasters in wide variety of vocational subjects: animal care, art, business, construction, early years, engineering, games design, and graphics, health and social care, hair and beauty, motor vehicle and sport, to name but a few".
For those who can’t make it or would like a real taste of the College, they can come along to our upcoming Open Days on Wednesday 17 October and Wednesday 28 November.
These will include a tour of the College’s fabulous campuses and facilities, which include the Sports Arena and gym which is now completely FREE of charge for every student, as part of our ‘Olympic Legacy Programme’. Nicola Adams an ex-Hopwood Hall College Boxing Academy student won Gold at this year’s London Olympics.
