Audiologist puts her best feet forward

Date published: 04 October 2012

A local audiologist is celebrating after raising money for a hearing charity by taking part in the Great North Run.

Natalie White is a familiar face to customers at Specsavers hearing centres in the area, having worked as an audiologist across stores in Rochdale, Oldham and Royton for the past two years.

Customers were quick to show their support for Natalie when she announced she would take on the half marathon race. They put their hands in their pockets to help raise more than £750 for Natalie’s chosen charity, Action on Hearing Loss. Rochdale Rotary Club also supported the audiologist’s efforts and her chosen cause.

The charity works to encourage those with hearing difficulties to take action to improve their lives. Rod Fullalove, store director at Specsavers stores in Oldham, Rochdale and Royton, says: "Action on Hearing Loss is a charity that, as hearcare professionals, is obviously close to our hearts.

"We jumped at the chance to sponsor Natalie and as a team we raised £100. We also all chipped in to buy her a new pair of trainers so that the run went as smoothly as possible. We’re really proud of Natalie. She always goes above and beyond for her customers and this is just another example of how dedicated she is."

Miss White adds: "I just want to say a thank you to all of our customers for their generosity and support. I am sure that the money will be well spent at Action on Hearing Loss and I’m glad to be able to help such a great cause."
