Red Cross Member standing next to CFL Collage
Community Focus Ltd (CFL) a social enterprise based in central Rochdale had some work exhibited in Manchester at the annual Red Cross exhibition. The theme of the exhibition was ‘The UN Day of the Disappeared’ held this month. The exhibition took place at Bridge 5 Mill in Manchester.
The piece submitted by a CFL member was made out of old Shalwar Kameeses, which had been cut in to small pieces and put together in the form of a collage. This artistic piece was put together by a CFL member and a 9 year old Nisha Hussain from Wardleworth.
Each piece of the collage represented people who have disappeared across the world through famine, war, drought and disasters. CFL believe art can be an avenue to express opinions, develop skills and promote cohesion.
