Boarding kennels targeted a second time in a fortnight

A local business could be forced to close after being targeted by thieves for a second time in a fortnight.

At about 2.00am on 25 September 2012, unknown offenders broke into a boarding kennels on Dye House Lane.

They stole three Gold Cocker Spaniels, four Blue Roan Cocker Spaniels, a Bischon, a Basset Hound, three Beagels and two King Charles Spaniels .

Sergeant Andy Fern said: "This is a popular local business but unfortunately due to being repeatedly targeted by thieves the owner is facing the very realistic prospect of having to close.

“An innocent businessman’s livelihood hangs in the balance because of the offenders and while we are keeping an open mind about those responsible we believe the incidents are linked.

“The victim’s insurance company is offering a £3000 reward for the safe return of the dogs and am keen to hear from anyone who may have been offered the dogs for sale or has overheard someone talking about this burglary.”
