From PDS to Paris

Date published: 26 September 2012

An intrepid team of cyclists from timber trade manufacturers PDS Doorsets have completed a gruelling cycle ride from London to Paris in aid of Springhill Hospice.

PDS were joined by fellow fundraisers from fibreglass mouldings specialists, Hilton Docker Mouldings, with their bespoke cycling kit being generously sponsored by supplier UAP Tradelocks.

The team made up of Tim Fairley, Peter Dawson, Pat Rice and Graeme Davies from PDS and Tim Docker from Hilton Docker Mouldings completed the route of over 300 miles in 3 days.

The route took them via Dover to meet the ferry to Calais, through beautiful countryside along the river Somme and finished in spectacular style in Paris city centre in front of the Eiffel Tower.

Tim Fairley said: “Following the success of our fundraising coast to coast ride last year, we decided to go bigger and better this year and hopefully raise more money to support Springhill Hospice once again.

"I'm certain most people know someone who's suffered from the terrible disease that is cancer, and appreciate the tireless work the volunteers put into working at a hospice.

"We realise it’s very testing times financially, but hope people will give generously for what is an extremely worthwhile cause.”

Springhill Hospice provides 16 in-patient beds and 16 day care places for people with palliative care needs in Rochdale and the North Manchester area.
