Youth Unity Committee after school education project
Youth Unity Committee (YUC) based at KYP in Central Rochdale celebrated after undertaking a successful after school education project.
Experienced YUC members worked with young pupils from Rochdale central ward over a period of four months. The project came to an end during the summer.
The majority of young people that participated in the project achieved good results in their GCSE studies and most of them have gone onto college.
Farhan Ahmed, a young person who took part in this project, said: "I think the after school club was a great provision and I enjoyed attending sessions and learning in an informal environemnt".
Farhan achieved 14 GCSEs and has gone on to study at Rochdale Sixth Form undertaking subjects such as Chemistry and Psychology.
Young people who took part in the project had opportunities to develop revision time tables and get extra support and access to revision materials to assist them in their studies.
