KYP sponsors Shawclough FC U10s

Date published: 21 September 2012

KYP have developed a partnership with Shawclough Football Club and are sponsoring the under 10s team.

Zulf Ahmed, Director of Learning & Skills at KYP commented that: “Since moving into our new state-of-the-art facilities at the Unique Enterprise Centre we have lost our astro turf pitch and indoor sports hall. This has resulted in the loss of valuable community based sports facilities. But KYP remain committed to supporting youth empowerment and in particular through the channel of sport and leisure.

"This sponsorship provides us with the opportunity to support young people and an organisation that is very much committed to developing skills in young people of all ages and backgrounds.

"We are pleased to be able to support the team and contribute to the development of skills in football as well as contribute to community cohesion.

"We hope to build on this in the near future and continue to seek opportunities for replacing the sports facilities that we lost as part of the transformation of the Belfield Business hub.”

Andy Perrins, Chairman of Shawclough FC, said: “The football club relies heavily on sponsorship from local businesses and fund raising events. We are really pleased that KYP has recognised the massive strides the club has made within the community in bringing people together through sport and have chosen to sponsor our under 10s team”.

The youngsters were absolutely thrilled with their new kit and won 12-1 in their first match.
