Hamer Community Primary School

Date published: 14 September 2012

We are delighted to see how well our new Reception age children settled into the routine of staying for their dinner and being at school for the whole day this week. In addition, it has been great to welcome the first of our Nursery children to Hamer this year. The Nursery children will continue their staggered start over the course of the next couple of weeks. It can be quite a challenge for children, parents and staff alike at the start of a new school year in Foundation and we would thank you for working with us to ensure that your child settles as well as possible into their new routines.

Mrs Coward and Miss Wild have resumed the Thursday coffee. Please do come along to spend some time in school with us – it is a great opportunity to meet other parents/carers and also to share any ideas about how we can make our school even better with us. See you at 9.00am next week!

Please remember the new road Markings and signage on the car park. Once you are on the premises you are no longer able to exit via Calder Street. Your patience is appreciated, especially with queuing to get back out onto Albert Royds Street. As you now know, double yellow lines are also all along the main driveway out of school. Our priority is to keep our school community safe, please work with us to ensure we achieve this together.

Next week due to the Harvest Assembly our celebration assembly will be at 9.10am on Thursday. However, usually our celebration assembly will now be at 9.10am EVERY FRIDAY MORNING – unless otherwise stated.
If your child is to receive an award you will now also get a personal invite to come along to your child’s assembly through the post.

On Friday 21 September at 9.15am we will be having a joint Harvest/Eid Assembly with our friends from Springside. Children are asked to bring in any donations of packet/tinned food before hand – they just need to bring them to their class. Alternatively if your child would like to make a donation of money we will also collect for a charity to be decided by the children. PLEASE do come along and join us next week at 9.15am. We look forward to seeing you then!
