Welcome back to the new school term.

Thank you to all the parents who responded so positively to the questionnaire sent out in July. The results have been processed and analysed by NFER and we are delighted with the comments, it shows how the school continues to work so well with you as parents supporting all the children. The comments about the new play area are particularly welcome, we would love to add to the equipment but will need your support through the PTA to raise some of the funds. Thank you for everything you have done so far. Onward and upward! We may have some budding Olympic champions.

The school diary is beginning to fill up. We do send out some letters and text alerts about activities but the timing does not suit everyone, sometimes we are too soon and people forget and other times, the texts appear to be last minute, please bear with us and we will continue to try and get it spot on!

Well done to the children who were presented with the first Achievement award of this school year:

Year 1 Alfie Bell-Taylor

Year 2 Max Reeves

Year 3 Saachi Prabhu

Year 4 Joshua Lazo

Year 5 Fallon Cooney

Year 6 Sofia Riley

Three classes managed 100% attendance – Reception, Year 3 and Year 6 with overall school attendance a super 97%.

Next week the Reception children are staying for school lunch.

Mrs Giverin has sent every child home with PE day details to help with organising kit etc. Please check you have this information. Year 4 are swimming every Monday afternoon and have made a flying start, the swimming teachers were very impressed at the standard from the first week. Well done.

Extra Curricular Clubs should be starting from Monday 17th, we will make sure there are timetables for the children to refer to and we will put the information on the website too. If you have any suggestions or requests for information you would like on the website, please contact Mrs Taylor.

On Friday we have the Kinetic Theatre coming to school to perform ‘Lady Cecily’s Sound Box’. The cost per child will be £1.50. This show is for Year 1 to Year 6.

Coming up in the future are the Secondary School Open Days, Year 6 will be alerted to when the schools are open. On Monday 1 October, Year 6 will be having a trial day at Falinge and this is also the date of the next PTA meeting, everyone welcome.
