Employees of Rochdale Boroughwide Housing (RBH), together with tenants, are busy planning for a mass-scale celebration this Saturday 8 September.
RBH’s Mutual Celebration Day will take place from 11.00am – 3.00pm at Kingsway Park High School (Queen Victoria St. Campus), Rochdale.
RBH’s Engagement Manager, Jonathan Walton said: “We urge employees, tenants and members to come along with their families. As well as having lots of fun, people can also find out about plans for local communities and how tenants and employees can work together to improve services, homes and neighbourhoods.”
Already lined-up for this shindig is; a climbing wall, bouncy castle, local music and dance groups, tea dance, Back Door Project ‘School of Rock’ Music workshop, Caribbean cookery demonstration, Skylight Circus Skills Workshop… to name but a few!
Most importantly and not to be missed on the day will be RBH’s Community Awards including; Good Neighbour, Garden and Community Kids Awards.
However, for RBH there will be a new slant on this year’s event - as looking towards a future as the country’s largest mutual social housing provider - it will be the first chance for tenants to find out what’s in store for the new mutual RBH, will give them an opportunity to sign up for membership and the newly appointed Representative Body will be attending to share their views and experiences and generally explain why they are embracing the mutual model.
Jonathan added: “RBH have held annual tenant events for several years now and they have been very popular. They’re a way of celebrating the excellent work of many volunteers who work tirelessly to make a positive difference to their communities. The event will celebrate what we have achieved so far and is a toast to our exciting mutual future.”
RBH employees from across the organisation will also be on hand to offer assistance and answer any queries from tenants. While there will also be a variety of stalls to browse.
The first 300 members to arrive will get a free ice-cream cone! No strings attached – just bring a sunny disposition!
