Martha Reeves has Rochdale dancing in the street

Date published: 02 September 2012

Martha Reeves rolled back the years to the delight of thousands in Rochdale Town Centre for the fifth annual Feel Good Festival.

Belying her 71 years Martha, along with her Vandellas, gave a superb performance that had the crowd 'Dancing in the Street'.

Also on stage earlier in the evening were The Beat; Ranking Roger joined by his son Ranking Junior belting out favourites from the late 70s/early 80s.

American singer-songwriter and guitarist from Northern California Jesca Hoop, now Manchester based, performed songs from her latest album, The House That Jack Built.

Also Manchester based, The Tapestry were last minute replacements for The Heartbreaks who had to pull out due to illness.

Local band Moose Patrol started the music rolling mid afternoon.
