Middfest balloon race winner announced

The Middleton Rotary Club’s balloon race which took place at Middfest in July has announced the winner. 170 balloons were let off with tickets to be returned if found.
Balloon race organiser Janice Powell said: “Having perused the 7 returned tickets the winner is Pat Greenall of Heywood. The balloon was found in Thorne, Doncaster by Lilian Cooper and travelled just over 52 miles.
The treasure hunt and balloon race raised a total of £230. The money raised will be used by Middleton Rotary Club to help local charities, clubs and organisations.
