Sandbags begin used attempting to prevent flooding
Weather forecasters have warned of further heavy rain over the bank holiday weekend following flooding around Lancashire and Greater Manchester.
The Met Office has warned of further rain and thunderstorms are expected.
On Tuesday the Environment Agency (EA) issued a flood warning as the river Irwell burst its banks at Irwell Vale following heavy showers.
The EA said areas at risk of floods included Rochdale, Oldham, Bolton, Haslingden, Ramsbottom and Rawtenstall.
