Date published: 20 August 2012
Dr. Graham Wright, Headteacher said: “Our last cohort of 6th Formers have achieved some good results which will enable them to progress to their next stage of education or employment. The students have worked hard to achieve these results and once again we are indebted to our dedicated staff for their hard work in helping the students reach their potential”.
Abbie-Lee Hollister
Abbie-Lee Hollister has achieved huge success with her A-Level Art project.
The sixth form student has been creating sculptures from Sellotape based on the work of a famous artist.
Abbie-Lee Hollister has studied the work of Mark Jenkins, an American artist who creates street installations using box sealing tape. She has since emailed Mark examples of her work and received a great response.
Abbie has also received sponsorship from Sellotape, as they have sent 80 rolls of tape to assist with her work and are featuring Abbie and her sculptures in their social media promotions. Sellotape is also in discussion of other ways in which they can work with both Abbie and the school in their promotions.
The Sellotape models were displayed on Wednesday 25 January at MOSI.
Eureka, the National Children’s Museum also asked Abbie to attend the museum to put on a workshop, which she has done this month.
Abbie plans to studying fashion design at Manchester Metropolitan University when she leaves school.
