The body of a woman, believed to be a 21-year-old, has been found in Hollingworth Lake.

Police were called to Hollingworth Lake at 7.45pm last night (Saturday 26 November) following reports of a body being seen by a member of the public.

Officers attended and the body of a woman was recovered from the water.

The identity of the body has not been released.

Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death are ongoing.

Shortly before midnight a line search team from the police arrived at the area and were understood to be looking for anything to help them with their investigation.

Police remained in attendance this morning (Sunday 27 November).
