Champion schools competition kicks off

Rochdale’s representatives in this year’s Carnegie Champion Schools competition are ready to role as Wigan’s 3rd seed team are set to come to town.
On Friday (4 November) Hollingworth Business and Enterprise College year 9 team entertain Abraham Guest , who they conquered at this same stage last year, at their new school pitch, kick off 2.30pm.
Next up are the year 8's on Wednesday 9 November, as Rochdale’s St Cuthbert’s High School take on St Edmund Arrowsmith at St Cuthbert’s school pitch, kick off 2.30pm.
Subject to approval from Hollingworth, a mouthwatering double header is in store as St Cuthbert’s year 7 and Hollingworth year 10 both entertain St John Fisher at Mayfield Sports Centre, at a date to be confirmed.
The year 11 Siddal Moor Vs St John Fisher is yet to find a date.
Danny Pyke, Link4Life Community Rugby League Coach for Rochdale, said: “All of our teams are prepared better than ever.
“Any team from Wigan is going to be tough to beat but I’m sure our lads will give it their all and do the borough proud.”
