Driver badly injured in crash

A 22-year-old man suffered serious head and chest injuries after his car careered off a motorway slip road and collided with a tree.
The man, who was unconscious at the scene, was cut out of the red Mazda by fire-fighters and rushed to hospital following the incident at 11.10am on Friday (14 January 2011) on the slip road to the A627M at Slattocks.
He is now in a stable condition.
