Albert Royds Street weekend closures

Date published: 17 January 2011

Albert Royds Street will be closed on the weekend off 22-23 January and 29-30 January to allow for work at the Clover Hall Bridge to be completed.

A spokesperson for Rochdale Borough Council’s highways partner, Impact Partnership, said: “Clover Hall Bridge has been replaced with a safer, stronger bridge and the utilities companies are working to restore their services across it. Provided this goes to schedule, we intend to close Albert Royds Street on the weekends of the 22 – 23 and 29 - 30 January to allow final works to be completed safely.”

“Molesworth Street shall remain a diversion route for GMPTE’s Drake Street works and for our Albert Royds Street closures. We are doing the work on Clover Hall Bridge at the weekend when there are fewer vehicles on the roads, minimising disruption for drivers. Rochdale town centre is still very much open for business.”
