Pregnant woman treated after fire
Date published: 07 January 2011
A pregnant woman was given oxygen therapy after inhaling smoke from a kitchen fire in Heywood yesterday (Thursday 6 January 2011).
The 23-year-old was treated at the scene before being taken to Fairfield hospital for a precautionary check-up.
She was discharged from the hospital late last night after receiving further treatment.
Two fire engines were called to Gordon Way at 5.29pm when residual fat in an electric oven caused the fire to break out.
A home fire risk assessment was carried out on the home after fire crews removed the damaged oven.
