Have your say on the transport budget

Date published: 05 January 2011

Transport leaders will be discussing budget proposals for the coming year at a public seminar next week.

Greater Manchester Integrated Transport Authority (GMITA) will hold its annual Budget Seminar in the Great Hall at Manchester Town Hall on Wednesday 12 January at 2.00pm (registration from 1.30pm), and is inviting anyone with an interest in public transport to come along.

Councillor Ian Macdonald, Chairman of GMITA, said: "The Budget Seminar is an opportunity for residents, businesses and representatives from special interest groups to hear what the coming year's budget proposals are and to find out what factors will influence the expected level of transport investment.

"There will be a presentation that sets out the proposals and then an opportunity for attendees to ask questions about the budget at the end of the session.

"We have already issued invitations to stakeholders and have had an encouraging response, but there are still places available."

Anyone wishing to attend the seminar should contact the GMITA Policy Team on 0161 234 4619, before 5pm on Friday 7 January, to reserve a place.
