Redwood School

Welcome back and a Happy New Year.

We are delighted to report that the school's work on 'Anti Bullying' over the past three years has been acknowledged by a national awarding body. The school recently submitted examples of our work, including the anti bullying book "On the way to the park" which was created and illustrated by a group of student council members. We have been notified that we have been successful and we have been awarded the 'Diana Anti Bullying Award' as a beacon of good practice. We shall be holding a special assembly to present the award officially in the next few weeks.

Thank you to those parents and carers who have returned the questionnaire on the possibility of the school providing transport to allow pupils to attend our Youth clubs, further details to follow shortly. Youth Clubs will start again on Tuesday 11 January 2011 with Afterschool clubs commencing on Monday 10 January.

Redwood said a sad farewell to Garry Plane last term, Garry has taught in Key stage 3 since Redwood opened and previously at High Birch. We would like to take this opportunity to wish Garry well for the future and a very happy retirement.

Sixth form would like to say a big thank you to all our family and friends that supported us by attending our Coffee Morning/Afternoon Tea and Enterprise Sale. It was lovely seeing you all again and we hope you enjoyed yourselves. We made over £500.
